FORM

FORM is a software object written in C using SDL2, built for Jeremy OS on an R36S game pad. It sits between digital sculpture, electronic instrument and controller performance. Two analogue sticks rotate and reshape the form, while buttons introduce pressure, torsion, colour and resonance. Every gesture transforms both its body and its generated sound.

Live Demo

Twenty seconds of live control, movement and sound.

Movement

Sustained rotation, directional deformation and twisting.

Force

Expansion, compression, torsion, depth, hold and resonance.

Instrument

Rhythmic gestures and combined controls.

Game pad control score. Left stick rotates, directional pad moves and bends the form, right stick twists, A expands, B compresses, X applies torsion, Y changes colour and harmony, shoulders control hold and resonance, and triggers pull and push.
